Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America cruise ship recently served as a floating classroom for 30 Hawai‘i Community College students who are enrolled in the college’s Hospitality & Tourism (HOST) program.

Kick off the holiday season and celebrate the 30th year of the festive Christmas with the Chefs, Saturday, Dec.1. The annual gala is on the seaside grounds of Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel from 5:30-8 p.m.

Members of the American Culinary Federation Kona Kohala Chefs Associationwill delight attendees with plates of expertly prepared savory cuisine and delectable holiday treats—all accompanied by handcrafted ales, choice wines and 100 percent Kona coffee.

Four Hawai'i Community College Nursing students received scholarships from the Kona Community Hospital Auxiliary in August. 

HAWAI‘I CC STEM STUDENTS GAIN EXPERIENCE IN ASTRONOMY SECTOR

Three Hawaiʻi Community College students put their science and technology skills to use in the astronomy sector this summer as part of the Akamai Workforce Initiative. The student internships culminated in community presentations of their projects on August 9 and 10 on Hawaiʻi Island.

AT UPCOMING WORKSHOP, SUCCESSFUL ALUMNI TO DISCUSS EXPERIENCES IN ONLINE UNIVERSITY DEGREE PROGRAMS

West Hawai‘i residents interested in earning a college degree online from a University of Hawai‘i campus can get the inside scoop from successful alumni during a workshop later this month.

The workshop, hosted by the University Center, West Hawai‘i, is titled “Getting Your Degree Online? YES, it’s Doable!” and takes place Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Koali 107 at the Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui campus in North Kona.
