Hawai'i Community College's Kō Education Center Launches New Butchery Course, Supported by $950,000 USDA Grant

Hawai'i Community College's Kō Education Center in Honoka‘a announces the launch of its new six-week, non-credit butchery course starting in Spring 2025. The course is made possible through a four-year, $950,000 grant from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The training is part of the UH Meat & Poultry Workforce Consortium, in collaboration with UH-Hilo and the College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources at UH-Mānoa.

Hawai‘i Community College Student Wins Prestigious Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship

HILO, HI (September 27, 2024) – Mary Christine Nguyen, a student at Hawai‘i Community College, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship, a recognition that highlights her academic excellence and leadership potential. Selected from nearly 1,500 applicants, Nguyen will receive a $1,000 scholarship in support of her educational pursuits.
