"Thankfully, through the University of Hawai’i at West Oahu’s distance education program, I was able to take as many classes as needed from the comfort of my own home in Kona while I worked full time and raised my child. Quickly after I received my degree I was offered a promotion as a Program Manager at my agency and also received a raise as a result.”

“During my time in academia, whether it was doing my undergraduate through UH Hilo or my MBA through UH Mānoa, Pālamanui was the cornerstone of my success. What I think many people in Kona don’t realize is that they can complete their undergraduate and graduate degree, or many other trades and higher learning degrees, through our West Hawai’i Campus. From my experience, Pālamanui is a school where teaching can’t just be categorized as a profession or a particular subject matter, it’s a family of educators that’s extremely passionate about its students, college and community – and I am proud to have been a part of that!”
