In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act - Section 84.4 of the Federal rules and regulations governing Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.., “No otherwise qualified individual with a disability shall, on the basis of disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity which receives or benefits from Federal financial assistance.”

Rights and Responsibilities

  • Every student established with the Disability Services Program will acknowledge and sign a Rights & Responsibilities form.

How to apply for the Disability Services Program

Students enrolled at any Hawai‘i Community College class with a documented disability or academic challenge are required to self-identify themselves with the Disability Services Program. Once established with the Disability Services Program, the student will meet with the counselor for a collaborative discussion to discuss possible academic accommodations.
