Purpose :
The purpose of this policy is to describe the College’s position on advanced placement exams and delineate how a student may apply for this option.
Background :
The College’s practices in this area were reviewed by the Academic Senate in Spring 2002. The Senate’s recommendations were submitted on April 9, 2002.
Policy :
Credit for comparable HawCC courses, as well as advanced standing, may be granted to students who complete Advanced Placement Tests offered by the College Entrance Examination Board. Advanced placement credit decisions are made by the faculty of the appropriate HawCC academic discipline. STUDENTS SHOULD CONSULT INDIVIDUAL DIVISION/ DEPARTMENT CHAIRS FOR ADVANCED PLACEMENT POLICIES.
