Hawaii Football Club is an academic and culturally based organization whose mission is to “Build Life Champions.” HFC created “HAWAII 8” for RISO’s like Team Moku o Keawe, to provide a conference for athletic competition at UH-Community College campuses. The purpose of Team Moku o Keawe is to support and complement our school with a program to enhance academics, engage community and family involvement, and help our campus increase student enrollment, student retention, and graduation. Emphasis will be placed on academics, character and community involvement to support our participants growth academically and socially as they prepare for the workforce.
In addition to academics, Team Moku o Keawe will foster positive growth by reinforcing behaviors and identities reminiscent of Hawaiiʻs unique culture and honor the qualities and values of our indigenous language. Coaches and staff members will engage in providing the positive instruction and support needed to nurture all participants in order to support the general learner outcomes of self-directed learning and community contribution.
