Longitude:  Timing Sunsets between Kona and L.A.
Kona-L.A. map w/Sunset photo
The Spring Equinox occurs on either March 20th or 21st (the first day of Spring) while the Autumnal Equinox occurs on either September 21st or 22nd (the first day of Fall).  On either of these days, the length of daytime equals the length of nighttime (i.e., 12 hours each).  If you are located in Kona (longitude 156°03' W) and speaking on the phone with someone living in Los Angles (longitude 118°15' W) who tells you that they see the sun setting on one of these particular days, then how much later will it be before you see the sun set?
