New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance and welcome to Hawai'i Community College! 

Orientation is mandatory for all new students.  It provides a smooth transition to college to will help you succeed on your academic journey here. Orientation is available at the Manono Campus in Hilo and at the Pālamanui Campus in Kona. To sign up, please contact the Counseling Office nearest you:

Students who are off-island and are unable to attend an in-person orientation should contact the Orientation Coordinator at to request an online orientation.  Online orientations are conducted as scheduled sessions via video chat, and they require a webcam and access to reliable internet.

Orientation Exemptions
Students who have attended a New Student Orientation within the last 2 years will qualify for an exemption from orientation and will be required to meet with an Academic Counselor/Advisor instead.   If this applies to you, please email the Orientation Coordinator at using your email account.
