ATTENTION STUDENTS!

If a writing tutor is working with a student, please sign in on the Writing Desk Contact Sheet, and the tutor will attempt to get to you as soon as possible.  Writing assignments are NOT to be left with the tutors as the tutors need to work one-on-one with you.

We have set up a priority system for when the Writing Lab gets extremely busy.  The priority system is as follows:

  1. Students working on assignments for ENG 20W, ENG 22, or ENG 100 offered by HawCC have first priority.

  2. Students working on assignments for other Hawai`i Community College (HawCC) English courses that require writing assignments have second priority.

  3. Students working on assignments for other classes have third priority.

We welcome students from both HawCC and the University of Hawai`i at Hilo (UHH); however, if our tutors are extremely busy, UHH students can also see tutors in the UHH Writing Center in the PC lab on the second floor of the Mookini Library.

Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding.  Please plan your visits to us so that you have ample time to work on your assignments and are not rushing at the last minute.

A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on ours...

If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact Annie Maeda, Writing lab instructor, at 974-7514 or at amaeda@hawaii.edu.  You can also leave a message in my mailbox in The Learning Center (TLC).
