The faculty and staff of the University Center West Hawai‘i welcome you to what we hope will be an exciting time in your life. We’re a small campus, tucked away in the corners of a converted shopping center, but we provide access to the best education available from the University of Hawai‘i.We’re proud to be part of a university system that spans the state’s six major islands with 10 campuses and more than 50,000 students. Whether you’re a student at the flagship research facility in Manoa or at the Center here in Kealakekua, the University of Hawai‘i system can be a door to challenges, growth, and opportunity.
As the extension campus of Hawai‘i Community College (Hilo), we offer West Hawai‘i students an onsite library, a culinary school, a nursing program, a computer lab, counseling services, and courses leading to AA and AS degrees in areas such as early childhood education, Hawaiian lifestyles, human services, and liberal arts.
As a University Center, we offer access via distance education to four-year and graduate degrees, including a Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Education and an MBA program from UH-Hilo, UH-West Oahu, and UH-Manoa.
