This workshop provides self awareness, building of self-esteem, and recognizing one’s strengths. You will develop a personalized analysis of your skin needs. Learn to do a self-analysis of your hair and how the proper hair styles compliment your facial structure. Determine your seasonal colors, through understanding the four color seasons. Gain awareness of your clothing personality, and putting together a wardrobe that works. At the completion of this workshop you will have developed a work-ready image and wardrobe on a limited budget all the while marketing the total package for successful employment and a better you. Certified Nurses' Aide

This course prepares individuals for patient-care employment in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private homes. Training includes 150 hours of formal classroom instruction, laboratory supervision, and clinical experience. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care for patients. Satisfactory completion of this course and the OBRA examination allows students to become Certified Nurses’ Aides. The OBRA exam fee and textbook are included in the tuition. Not-For-Profit Management Certificate Program

This program is designed to support new or aspiring Executive Directors of not-for-profit organizations, their staff, and board members. This is a continuing education program that covers fundamental management skills in eight core modules, taught by community-based consultants in a collaborative learning environment. Classes meet once a month on Friday and Saturday from April through November. Participants, who complete the series of all eight modules, as well as an evaluation through a final project, will graduate from this program and receive a Not-for-Profit Management Certificate. Security Guard Training

This course presents eight subjects that are listed in Chapter 463 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended in 2010, pertaining to Private Security Guards. The subjects are:

  1. State and federal laws regarding the legal limitations on the actions of guards, including instruction in the law concerning arrest, search and seizure, and the use of force as these issues relate to guard work.
  2. Access control, safety, fire detection and reporting, and emergency response.
  3. Homeland security issues and procedures.
  4. When and how to notify public authorities.
  5. Techniques of observation and reporting of incidents, including how to prepare an incident report.
  6. The fundamentals of patrolling.
  7. Professional ethics.
  8. Professional image and aloha training.

Forklift Training

The purpose of this training is to help you become a forklift operator; one who has the knowledge and skills to operate a forklift in a safe and professional manner through hands-on experience. The definition of various types of lift trucks, forklift operations, safety and maintenance, refueling, and recharging will be covered. After passing a test, you will receive a certificate which is valid for three (3) years. This class meets requirements under OSHA 1910.178. Participants must be 18 years of age. Health Information Technology Workforce Development Program

Medical Reimbursement Specialist Program

This program will introduce students to the profession and practice of Medical Reimbursement (billing). Course activities will include; skills in the management of patient medical accounts, standard healthcare billing methodologies, understanding terms and practical knowledge of coding and acronyms, insurance formulas, issues involving compliance, fraud, abuse, and managed care regarding medical billing, demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in selecting the correct procedure code for each service provided from the current edition of Physician’s Current Procedural Terminology, ICD-9 CM, and HCPCS, and perform basic physician office billing procedures.
