Welcome to Hawai'i Community College Nursing Programs! Thank you for considering Hawai'i CC as you pursue a career in the Nursing Profession and begin your journey towards completing your nursing education.

The Certificate of Achievement in Practical Nursing program prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Licensed Practical Nurses work in a variety of healthcare settings under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse.

The Associate in Science Degree in Nursing program prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nursing (NCLEX-RN). Registered Nurses are qualified to work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community-based settings.

A variety of resources are available to support student learning and facilitate successful completion of a nursing program. We offer comprehensive courses and a well-equipped Nursing Laboratory Resource Center (NLRC), which allows students to experience a variety of healthcare settings and high-fidelity simulation scenarios in a laboratory setting. Students who work closely with the faculty team, use available resources, and work with other students in small groups learn quickly and are successful in our programs. It is important to remember that nurses are required to be self-motivated, to set priorities, and to be responsible for their own actions.
