Tropical Storm Ana

October 16 update:

The University of Hawaii continues to monitor Tropical Storm Ana and is working closely with state and county officials to anticipate its possible impact on Hawaii. This is the October 16, 2:20 p.m. update with the latest storm information.

UH Hilo, Hawaii Community College and NHERC will remain open and classes will meet Friday, with the exception of the Hawaii Community College Motorcycle Training class on Saturday, which is cancelled.

Classes and activities at the UH West Hawaii Campus are cancelled for Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18 and the campus will be closed.

However, conditions are unpredictable and should they require additional closures, we will inform you here and through a UH Alert.

Courses for the Hawai'i Community College Associate of Science in Nursing (Registered Nurse) are offered through the University of Hawai'i Center at West Hawai'i (UHCWH). Subject to adequate interest, available space, and sufficient faculty a nursing class will be admitted every Fall. The 30 credits of pre and co requisite courses for the nursing program are offered prior to the acceptance of each first year nursing class. Consult the schedule of courses for Hawai'i Community College's current offerings at the UHCWH.

Students interested in the nursing program should be aware of the admission requirements. Admission information for the nursing program is found in the Hawai'i Community College 2012-2013 General Catalogue or at the Division of Nursing and Allied Health Admission Information Page in the menu on the left.
