IEP STUDENTS CELEBRATE GRADUATION AND END OF SUMMER SESSION

Students in the Hawai'i Community College Intensive English Program (IEP) celebrated the completion of the summer 2016 session and the graduation of several students from the program on Thursday, July 21.

For over 20 years, IEP has welcomed students from all over the world to study English in Hilo. Local residents who are not native English speakers also make up part of the student body. Ten different countries were represented by the students in this summer session, including Bhutan, Somalia, Vietnam, Switzerland and Japan. IEP students positively impact the campus and the community by sharing their culture and completing many hours of community service.

IEP students study English for different reasons, but many plan to enter Hawai'i Community College or the University of Hawai'i at Hilo after completing IEP. The next eight-week session will begin on August 16. Please see www.iephawaii.com, or call (808) 934-2698, for more information.
