3RD ANNUAL HAWAI‘I CC DAY HAPPENING FRIDAY, FEB. 26

Hawai‘i Community College will host the the 3rd Annual Hawai‘i CC Day on Friday, F­ebruary 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Manono Campus in Hilo.

The day will begin with a kīpaepae welina. Visitors can then spend time at the interactive exhibits presented by the college’s academic programs and student services.

FALL 2016 DEAN'S LIST

Hawai‘i Community College proudly releases the names of the following students who have achieved Dean’s List honors for the Fall 2016 semester.  The Dean’s List requires students to have completed 12 or more credits for a letter grade achieving a grade point average of at least 3.5 (B+) for the semester. 343 students have attained this distinction this semester. Please join us in congratulating them!

ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY STUDENT DEVELOPS SAFETY SYSTEM FOR OBSERVATORY DURING SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Electronics Technology student Eric Paopao participated in the 2016 Akamai Internship Program during the summer and helped develop a safety mechanism at the UH88 Observatory on Mauna Kea.

Eric, a second-year Electronics Technology student at Hawai‘i Community College, was one of 29 students from Hawai‘i to participate in the internship this year, many of them coming from other University of Hawai‘i campuses.

IEP STUDENTS CELEBRATE GRADUATION AND END OF SUMMER SESSION

Students in the Hawai'i Community College Intensive English Program (IEP) celebrated the completion of the summer 2016 session and the graduation of several students from the program on Thursday, July 21.

PRACTICAL NURSING STUDENTS CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF PROGRAM AT PINNING CEREMONY

Seven Hawai'i Community College students recently celebrated the successful completion of the college's Practical Nursing program that prepares them to be Licensed Practical Nurses. At a pinning ceremony on July 15, the graduates celebrated their success with administrators, faculty, staff, friends and family. Congratulations, students! EXPRESS ADMISSIONS DAY WORKSHOP SET FOR JULY 28; APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR FALL SEMESTER IS AUGUST 1

The deadline to apply for the fall semester at Hawai‘i Community College in Hilo and Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui in Kona is Monday, August 1. Classes start August 22.

DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS PROGRAM EXPANDING TO PĀLAMANUI, NOW OFFERING ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE

The Hawai‘i Community College Digital Media Arts program is growing.

Starting this fall, Hawai‘i CC will begin offering an Associate of Science degree in Digital Media Arts and will also begin offering Digital Media Arts classes at the Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui campus in Kona.

A FATHER-SON SUCCESS STORY: CULINARY ARTS GRADUATES THRIVING IN LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT SCENE

Just in time for father's day, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser is featuring a story on a father-son duo who both graduated from Hawai'i Community College's Culinary Arts program and who are finding success in Las Vegas.

Roy Ellamar has his name on Harvest by Roy Ellamar, a restaurant at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Tayden Ellamar is master cook at Joel Robuchon, the only restaurant in Las Vegas with three Michelin stars, according to the article.
