Student Employment

Federal and state funds are available for the employment of students who are enrolled at least half-time in a program of study leading to a degree or certificate and who are in good academic standing at Hawaii Community College.
Work hours will not exceed 20 hours per week during the academic year when classes are in session. Hourly wages are related to the type of work, required proficiency, and are based on current state/ federal minimum wage laws and regulations. |
Federal Work Study Program (FWSP)
This program provides funds for part-time employment. An individual student's award is based upon his or her individual need and the availability of funds. |
State-Funded Employment
Students without FWSP employment awards may work on-campus positions when students with employment awards are unavailable to fill vacant positions. Students must meet job qualifiations. Information on work hours and pay scales is identical to that in the FWSP listing.

Bridge to Hope
Bridge to Hope funding is available for students who are reciving TANF or TAONP and are in the First to Work Program. If you meet both requirements and are a full time student, You may work in a position that has available Bridge to Hope funds as a student employee.
