What do our students need to be able to do “out there” that we’re responsible for “in here”?

 

Roles:  Help desk, computer support, network administrator, system developer

 

Select and create software/hardware systems that meet the unique information needs of an organization.

Efficient use for the following programs:  Word processing, Excel spreadsheet, Access database

Structure websites

Create system software for example:  database

Select software and hardware for the company

Utilize resources effectively

 

 

Implement the hardware, software, and procedural components of a data communication system in a business environment.

Read and understand technical manuals, computer

Configure computer network settings correctly for connectivity to the Internet

Set up a computer system out-of-the-box correctly

Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware and software problems

Design, install, and maintain a computer network

Provide maintenance plan for software and hardware

 

 

Display a professional attitude and abide by the legal and ethical guidelines of the information technology field.
